Get Lost in the world of Come from Away

With its massive success in 2018, Come from Away is still playing at the Royal Alexandra Theatre only until January 20! If you’re one of the few who haven’t seen the heartfelt musical, Come from Away will leave you feeling proud to be Canadian. Written by Tony nominated Canadians Irene Sankoff and David Hein, this musical is inspired by the true story of 38 airplanes that were diverted to the tiny town of Gander, set in Newfoundland following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001. Featuring 12 quirky characters who opened their homes and cooked for 7,000 stranded passengers from all over, watch as they navigate life through the spontaneity of song and dance. The National Ballet of Canada will be resuming their schedule dates in 2019 by introducing additional upcoming shows and bringing back past favourites. Under the direction of esteemed ballerina, Karen Kaine, the prestigious NBOC has breathtaking shows lined up for audiences all year round. In particular, renowned British choreographer Christopher Wheeldon’s spectacular production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland returns! Shows are available from March 7 to 17. This fan-favourite is not one you want to miss!

Known for hosting the best-leading movie premieres during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), this lavish theatre also holds the finest of concerts. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra is a collective of some of the top leading musicians in the country. Performing the most notable pieces in music, the orchestra is gearing up for their end of January performances of Wagner. Beginning January 31, Sir Andrew Davis will be directing the orchestra through Die Walkure with a two-night performance, closing on February 2. As this is a limited two-day event, tickets are expected to sell out fast. If this doesn’t encourage you to get those tickets right away, we don’t know what will!
